  COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE (CE)

CE Document Appendix A-1.1 Quick Start Check List

Step # 1           W.M. Informs CE Committee that it wants to become involved in CE. WM Contacts CE Regional Sub-Chair – See Appendix D – 4.1 & 4.2 for Lodge Assignment & Contact Information)

Step # 2           CE Sub-Chair supplies WM with CE Start-up package – including the mandatory Letter of Agreement (See Appendix A1.2).

Step # 3           At a Stated Meeting, the Lodge formally votes (ideally) to enroll in Commitment to Excellence.  Lodge officers sign the Letter of Agreement and return to the CE Sub-Chair as evidence of their committed intent.  (Note:  The actual signing can take place AFTER the Lodge begins CE – this is due to the timing related to Stated Meetings).

Step # 4           Formal Lodge CE Leadership Team is assembled (See instructions in introduction of the CE Document or Click Here for Guidelines).

Step # 5           CE Regional Sub-Chair assigns training facilitator to the Lodge and communications are established regarding how to proceed further (Click Here for Lodges in CE Regions).

Step # 6           1st Level CE process begins in September of each year (See Appendix C-3.2 for dated activities) – Note: Exceptions can be made for Lodges getting a late start – if they commit to doubling their effort.

Step # 7           Each year the CE process ends at end of May – which provides an opportunity to recognize CE Lodges completing various Levels at the June Grand Lodge Communication.

Step # 8           CE Committee facilitators provide ongoing Lodge support throughout the entire CE Process.
